Marian Vance-Stevenson Obituary

March 26, 1933 - Dec. 27, 2015

Marian June Vance-Stevenson was born on March 26, 1933 in Sacramento. After high school, Marian went to cosmetology school and practiced as a beautician off and on for many years. In 1954, Marian's son Michael Trapp was born. With the support of her parents, Roy and Fern Vance, Michael was raised in Woodland, while she pursued a decade long career in Los Angeles in the restaurant, retail, and pharmaceutical industries. Marian enjoyed life in LA; it is where she met her best friend, Rosie and married the love of her life, Al Ferreira.

Marian moved back home to Woodland in the 1980's where she enjoyed being a grandmother, gardening, and even opening her own beauty salon off Main Street called Tips & Clips. Later in life, Marian pursued one of her passions: a love for animals. She relocated to a ranch in Dixon to assist her brother, Robert Vance in running his kenneling business.

Marian's vibrant personality, playful demeanor, and generous spirit are just a few of the qualities she will be remembered for. She was also an exceptional cook and made the best potato salad for her family.

In summation, Marian lived a wonderful life, surrounded by people and pets who adored her- just the way she was.

Marian will be remembered by her son, Michael (Mike) Trapp and his wife Kathy Trapp; her grand- daughters, Lisa Trapp, Laura Trapp, and Jessica Farrow, and her brother, Robert (Bob) Vance.

RIP Marian, I've often wondered about Marian. I was one of the first hairstyles to work at Marian's hair salon, Tips and Clips. She was a fun person to work with, very playful and spunky! My condolences to her family.
