Amy Langley Obituary

Amy T. Langley TILLSON- Amy T. Langley of Jeffrey Dr. died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at HealthAlliance Hospital. She was 72. Amy was born in Bronxville, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Eckmann. After nearly two decades of lovingly raising her family, she then worked for over 20 years at Brookside School where she touched the lives of so many children. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Peter’s Church. Amy enjoyed gardening and keeping her yard filled with beautiful plants and flowers throughout the year. She was also very passionate about cooking as she collected and developed hundreds of recipes over her lifetime. Above all, Amy loved her annual summer vacations on Cape Cod with her family - spending days on the National Seashore and evenings amidst the shops and restaurants of the Outer Cape. Her vibrant personality and sense of humor were infectious, and as many will agree, her laugh will be remembered forever. On Nov. 9, 1967, Amy married Henry J. Langley in Tuckahoe, N.Y. Hank passed away on Apr. 13, 2015. Surviving are two sons, Timothy (Kristen) Langley of Poughkeepsie, Christopher Langley of Boston, Mass.; and her daughter, Sarah Langley of Tillson. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Madeleine and Sophie Langley, and a sister, Carol Robinson of New Rochelle. A son, Henry Langley, Jr., died previously. Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston where friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. and process to St. Peter’s Church in Rosendale for an 11 a.m. funeral Mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cape Cod National Seashore, c/o National Park Service (note: In Memory of Amy Langley), 99 Marconi Site Road, Wellfleet, Mass., 02667. I have only fond memories of Amy, Hank and their children: Tim, Chris and Sarah. Amy was a very fine person, a wonderful woman. I've no doubt that she is in a very good place now. My heart goes out to her children and I pray that in your sorrow you will feel the most profound sense of gratitude for the gift of your mother's life. God bless you all.
