Jo Anne Hoyt TILLSON - Jo Anne Hoyt, 70, of Orchard Place died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 peacefully at her home. She was born April 1, 1944 in Hurley. Jo Anne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved playing cards, and her favorite game was Mahjong. Those were some of her favorite past times. Jo Anne was a beauty school graduate of Albany Beauty School and the proud owner of a beauty parlor in Rhinebeck. She later held several positions at Benedictine Hospital. In addition to her parents, Kenneth Hopper Sr. and Lillian Hopper - Krom, she was predeceased by her husband Daniel P. Hoyt Sr., who died in 2000, and her brother, Kenneth W. Hopper Jr. She is survived by four children, Joelle C. Rider and her husband Jed of Tillson, her son Daniel P. Hoyt Jr. of Tillson, Her son Douglas H. Hoyt of Hurley her daughter Deborah Focht of Wappingers Falls, a sister Nancy Dyrda and her husband Mike of Rochester, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Also, a special person, Sharon Gordon of Tillson, whom she considered a “daughter” and part of the family. Friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Rev. Nickolas Miles will conduct funeral services at 8 p.m. Inurnment will be at the Hurley Cemetery in the spring.
