Diane Griffin

Diane B. Griffin Ballston Spa - Diane Baumgartner Griffin passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her home. She was born in Ballston Spa, on June 22, 1935, to Catherine Doherty Baumgartner and Herbert Baumgartner. Diane graduated from Ballston Spa High School in 1953 and continued her education at William Smith College, Geneva, N.Y. where she received her Bachelor's degree. She received her Master's degree in Elementary Education at Oneonta College.
Diane enjoyed all the years that she taught and loved her students dearly. She was an avid reader who enjoyed mystery novels. She also enjoyed her crossword puzzles.
In 1967, Diane married John Griffin and they were blessed with two wonderful sons, John and Tom. She also had two grandsons, Jack and Will, who she was very close with and were always in her heart.
Diane lived a full life of love and friendship. She enjoyed spending time with her friends who she felt were the best. Family was the most important part of her life. She was very proud of her two sons, John and Tom, her daughter-in- law, Kris and two grandsons, Jack and Will.
Her sister, Susan Baumgartner, was a very special sister to her and she cherished the time they spent together. Diane has many cousins who were close to her in every way and helped her whenever she needed them. She felt fortunate to have them so close to her.
Diane was thankful for her primary physician Dr. Eugene Merecki as well as her palliative care physicians, Dr. John Pezzulo and Mitch Forshey, P.A., who provided very special support to her and her family. A warm thank you to Chrissy Pastore who also cared for Diane.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Griffin. Diane leaves behind her sister, Susan Baumgartner, two sons, John Griffin (Shelly), and Tom (Kris) Griffin, and two grandsons, Jack Griffin and Will Griffin.
Viewing hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30am Thursday, June 20 at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
