Eamon V. Murphy

1936 - 2022

Eamon V. Murphy 86, formerly of Duanesburg Road, Delanson, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13th in Clarksville, TN where he had moved to be closer to family 2 years ago.

Eamon was born March 22, 1936 in Bronx, NY, a son of Matthew and Mary (Anastasia) O'Conner). He was educated at Cardinal Farley Military School and later, received his associates' degree from SUNY Cobleskill and his Bachelor's degree from Empire State College. He served his country from 1956 to 1957 in the US Navy stationed in Maryland as a Plane Mechanic reaching the rank of 3rd class. Eamon bartended after his honorable discharge from the Navy and later, drove truck for Sealtest Milk Co. in NYC and eventually, drove truck and delivered for UPS for 24 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Princetown Senior Citizens.

Survivors include; his wife, Loretta (Wright) Murphy whom he married on November 30, 1958, his 3 sons; Eamon P. (Donna) Murphy of TN, Michael (Colleen) Murphy of Schoharie, and John (Maureen) Murphy of Sudlersville, MD, 3 grandchildren; Jelena, Kaitlin, and Eamon M., and 1 great-granddaughter; Kylee, and 2 great-grandsons Desmond, Ethan. Proceeded in death are his siblings; Mary Murphy, James Kevin Murphy and Matthew Murphy.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19th at the Langan Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20th at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in the Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
