Jean Abeel Obituary
Jean and her husband, Don retired to Zephyrhills, Florida as snowbirds. They loved the Adirondacks and were avid campers. Don and Jean traveled to all 50 states together. Jean loved her flowers while Don loved his garden and the many dogs that shared their home over the years. Don and Jean found their greatest pleasure as dance partners, and they were incredible dancers. In recent years Jean enjoyed spending time at her son Jeff's camp on Fern Lake in Ausable Forks, NY.
Jean's survivors include her son Jeff Abeel, daughter Deborah Marek (William), grandson Noah Marek (Melissa File), brother Edmund Snyder, Jr. (Francine), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Jean was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Ballston Spa, NY. She began her life journey with her baptism and will end her journey as she is laid to rest at St. Mary's Church.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, August 25 at St. Mary's Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Burial will follow in East Line Union Cemetery, Malta. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jean may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
