Robert Clayton Bisbee Robert Clayton Bisbee, age 91, died peacefully on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y.
Bob (Biz) Bisbee was born on March 25th, 1932 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. to Grace and Chester Bisbee. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1950, and continued education by earning a postsecondary Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont. Bob's knowledge and passion for engineering led him to complete a 40-year tenure at Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna, N.Y. Upon the completion of a successful career, he retired from Knolls Atomic Power Lab in 1999 to work for his oldest son's family business, B&D Automotive International, Inc., in Clifton Park, N.Y. Bob married Inez Mae on February 29th,1959, to whom he was happily married for 52 years. Bob and Inez were lifelong members of the First United Methodist Church in Schenectady, N.Y.
Bob, predeceased by his loving wife Inez, is survived by his twin sister Elna Meader of Brant Lake, N.Y and New Hampshire, his two sons Brian Clayton Bisbee (Donna) of Homestead, Florida and Kevin Allen Bisbee (Alma) of Schenectady, N.Y., and their granddaughter Holly Elizabeth Bisbee of Kansas City, Missouri.
Besides spending the summers in Rhode Island at the family beach house, Bob loved to be surprised by home-cooked meals by Kevin and Alma and spending winters in Florida with Brian and Donna along with the family dogs. He loved vintage automobiles so much he could identify the year, make, and model of any vehicle by memory. One of his favorite vehicles was his son Kevin's 1992 Camaro with over 360,000 miles, which Bob told everyone of when given the opportunity.
Also a lifelong music enthusiast, Bob would sit and listen to Organ Music as loud as possible every evening. Just last July, Bob was surprised by Brian, Donna and Holly with a special gift for him to travel to see the largest organ in the world, The Wannamaker, at Macy's in Philadelphia, PA. He was able to tour the venue, meet one of his favorite organists and attended several concerts. He was elated! Following that trip and a special thanks to his home aide and friend Maggie, he was able to attend the opening concert of Goldie, the Wurlitzer organ at Proctor Theatre in Schenectady, N.Y.
The Bisbee family wishes a special thanks to Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center and to Maggie, his home health aide and friend.
A memorial service will be held in the Summer of 2024 at the First United Methodist Church in Schenectady, N.Y.
