ELGIN - David F. Teas, 71, of Elgin, passed away on March 3, 2018 at University of Chicago Hospital, Chicago, IL. He was born on November 27, 1946 in Elgin, IL the son of Hildred and Arlene (Catavu) Teas. Dave graduated from Larkin High School in 1965. He was the President/Owner of Ability Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in Elgin for 25 + years. Dave served on the Plumbing Commission for the City of Elgin. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and loved boating with his family on Lake Geneva. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include his wife: Susan, whom he married on May 8, 1965; two children: David (Samantha) Teas and Christine Winter; six grandchildren: Jessica (Jim) Dunn, Katrina Teas, Megan Steinbis, Tyler Teas, Ryan Winter and Jacob Teas; two sisters: Barbara (Wes) Paxton and Jackie (Howard) Owens; along with many nieces, nephews and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister: Sherry Teas. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 10, 2018 from 3-7:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., (Rt. 31), Elgin IL 60123, with a funeral service at 6:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
