Jay and I dated in the late 70's/early 80's and he was so much fun to be around. May he rest in peace.

If you ever met Jay you'd never forget him, if you ever spent much time with him you'd want more time. Fun, Friendly, loved a laugh and good Spirits along the way of Life. He taught me how to drive a stick shift in his Mom's VW Bug, I taught him how to ride a motorcyle. The whole old Hasbrook crew was proud when learning Jay became a Marine and actually got through Boot Camp. He kind of inspired me and 3 others from that crowd to eventually join and Serve our Country. So good to learn that his Mom was from Albert Lea, Mn--a place where my Family lived for a few years in the 80s, and where my now departed brother Jim found out 5 years he had a long lost daughter and made a new loving relationship with her. Jim always spoke of Jay, and tried to go see Jay in AZ from NM where Jim lived, but they just couldn't tie it out. Jay in later years from the Home was always so gracious when speaking with him on the phone, always asked about Sue my wife, whom he knew from Arlington HS. Had a great memory about experiences we all shared back in those growing up days. He would sometimes just blurt out from long go things like; "your sister went to Drake, right"?..."your dad had that Dodge Dart that would burn rubber just by pressing on the gas, remember Bill?"...He was amazing that way. There are so many memories and experiences over the years of Jay darting in and out of them...I'll never forget him nor will most who ever met him. Godspeed and Eternal Rest now Jay...
