Melissa and Dave,
Though we haven't been next door neighbors in many years, when I heard the news about Kristen my heart and mind drifted back to the days on Cardinal when Leander, Maggie, Kristen and Brian would play in the back yards all day. Please know that many years and several hundred miles seperate us, our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.
Sincerely,
Elisabeth (Merendino), Lenader and Maggie

THE LARSEN FAMILY

I DID NOT KNOW YOUR DAUGHTER BUT HEARD ABOUT HER THROUGH MY GRANDAUGHTER WHO ALSO HAS CF. WHAT A REMARKABLE GIRL SHE WAS. I WILL PRAY FOR HER AS I DO MY OWN GRANDCHILDREN THAT GOD WILL WATCH OVER KRISTEN AND YOUR FAMILY. IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE WHAT THE ANGELS WITH CF GO THROUGH KRISTEN IS NOW IN HEAVEN WITHOUT CF AND ALL THE THINGS THAT CF CHILDREN HAVE TO GO THROUGH EACH DAY.

My wife and I are sad to here of your daughters passing. We are friends of Rey and we have donated much over the years in his efforts for fundraising. This year after having a daughter of our own (10) months ago I've begun to understand how truly special a child is.This young lady will remain in our hearts as will your entire family.I hope that the healing process will begin and that you all will find comfort in not what you've lost, but what has been gained as this child has touched many lives in living and in passing.God bless you all.

A Friend in God

May 16, 2007

I only know Kristen through a good friend. I understand she was a very special teenager who's life was cut too short. I have a daughter 14 years old too, I can not imagine your grief. I cried when our mutual friend told me another angel went home. My prayers and thoughts are with you and all your family and friends.

Larsens-
We are so sad to see Kristen leave us, but we know that she is in peace now. Kristen was such an inspiration to others, and she touched everyone, without even knowing it. She has tought our family to live life to the fullest. I (Nicole) can't remember a day that she came into gymnastics with out smiling, she was always a happy girl. So, although we will miss her so much, we will always remember her, and love her forever. Kristen was my hero.
Love,

I did not know Kristen, but I believe that she was quite a sweet and lovable girl. Kristen was well-liked and loved by her classmates and teachers at Plum Grove Jr. High School, as well as her coaches and fellow teammates at Palatine Gymnastics Club. Please take heart and remember that Kristen is in a much better place and that she is looking down upon you as well as her classmates, teachers, coaches and fellow gymnasts. I believe that right now Kristen is showing our Lord Jesus her unique gymnastics moves in heaven. Plus I believe that Kristen is really enjoying showing off her pretty little piggies while doing her gymnastics moves. I believe that as a fellow Christian like me who loved her Lord and Savior very much in her short life, Kristen is a beautiful girl saint in our heavenly Father's wonderful kingdom. Remember that even though our mortal bodies will pass away through death, our souls which are eternal still live on in heaven. And so it is for Kristen. Her soul which is eternal still lives on in our heavenly Father's kingdom, plus she still has her pretty little piggies. And she is still doing her unique moves in gymnastics. Take care for now and as Kristen would have said to you as she passed on from this life to eternal life from Cystic Fibrosis, "See you later alligator in a while crocodile!"

Our daughters were together in Mrs. Weller's class at Kimball Hill and also had a dance class together at the Rolling Meadows Park District. She touched my daughter's heart when Kristen had told the 2nd grade class of her disease. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

We feel great sorrow for your loss. Thank you for keeping us informed through the emails. We know through the emails and through Len and Sue what a special person Kristen was. She lived every day to its fullest and bravely would have tried new lungs to stay with those she loved. When that was not possible because of your love that surrounded her, I am positive, she went forward to heaven knowing there was much more love waiting to receive her there. She inspired those around her, even those who only knew her through the emails and her family. May God be with you as Kristen is with Him.
