ROBERT COTTINGTON Obituary

GLEN ELLYN - Robert W. Cottington, Jr., 86, a former longtime resident of Glen Ellyn and owner of Cottington's Interiors in Glen Ellyn, died last month in Seattle, Washington, with his entire family by his side. Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his three children, William, Barbara, and Douglas; and four grandchildren. Bob was a member of the Glenbard West Class of 1953, and a graduate of both Culver Military Academy and Miami University. Not only was Bob a longtime resident of Glen Ellyn, but was an active member of the community during the nearly 70 years that he lived there. He served a term as president of the Glen Ellyn Rotary, was a member of the mosquito abatement board, on the board of directors for First DuPage Bank; and was a proud member of Glen Oak Country Club, GEPPA, the Army Reserves, and his friendly Friday morning investment breakfast group. Appreciated by everybody he met for his unique sense of humor, he and Elizabeth have been living in Sanibel, Florida since retiring in 2000. They have been members of the Forest Country Club for over 20 years. Bob and "Betsy" have been enjoying their retirement in Seattle, and Sanibel, Florida, making friends wherever they go. Services will be private.
