Dear Laurie and Family,
Though we hadn't seen Bob in many years, he made a lasting impression on us. We enjoyed his friendship and numerous laughs when we were at St. Joe's for those many years. We know he suffered and we are grateful that the suffering has ended and he is whole once again and entertaining all his friends and families who preceded him.
Love,
Kathy and Ralph Papaleo

Dr. Sherman was a man who believed in giving back to his community and was proud to have former students come back to teach at Round Lake. He gave me my first teaching job after college and had a hand in creating my life- long love for my career. He was my teacher, counselor, and "boss", and my supporter, mentor and friend. He will be missed by so many. May knowing how his life touched others, ease your sorrow. He was a wonderful man.

Bob was a dedicated principal and a man who deeply cared for the needs of the children here at St. Matthew's School. I loved his sense of humor and sarcasm. He was a compassionate Catholic and always able to think outside the traditional and rather boring eccelsial box that unfortunately so many Catholics are stuck in!! I will always remember the lunches we shared, especially our "tuna fish sandwich time" at Schlotzky's during
Lent. May Bob rest in the justice and joy of our Creator! Peace and prayers to you, Laurie and your sons!!

Laurie, David and Robert, Jean and I send you our deepest sympathy as you carry on without Bob in your lives. We know he's in a great place but he left us all behind and the world is not quite as wonderful without him in it. He gave so much and he leaves a big void. We love you and mourn with you.

Death is not puting out the light; it is extinguishing the candle because the dawn has come!
Bob made our family complete, he balanced out the the genders for my folks...although giving birth to 4 children they and all of us have always felt there were 8 children in our Follensbee family. It is sad to know we are now incomplete with only 7. We know Bob is at peace and resting in the arms of our Lord. Many treasure the memory of him and the role he played in their lives but non more than we his family and all his neices and nephews. Sleep well Uncle Mr. Sherman.

To the Sherman Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of Bob. He was a superb leader, and I enjoyed serving with him on several district committees. He had so much empathy for teachers and students, and he always made Round Lake a wonderful place to work. His positive attitude and his love for his family and community was evident in all he did.

I speak for many educators who, because of Bob, experienced the joy of being
teachers,counselor, principals, and
superintendents. Bob held all of us to
his high standards, pushed us into being the very best we could---all the while retaining a sense of humor and
focusing us on what was best for kids.
He will always our my mentor and hero.
