RUDY ZABRAN Jr.

1957 - 2021

Rudy Zabran Jr., a heartfelt and impassioned husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, passed away at home Saturday, April 17th, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 30, 1957 in Elgin, Illinois, to Rudy Joe Sr. and Ruby Juanita Zabran. He married Donna Hubbs on July 4, 2000, and they made their home in Genoa, Illinois. Rudy was a self-employed Master Carpenter and worked in the building trades over 45 years. He treated every project as if it were his own, and every customer as family. He prided himself in a business based solely upon referrals and repeat customers. He loved all things football and had a fiery relationship with the Bears, forever owing money to his father for a longstanding wager that the Bears would prevail. He loved fishing and being outdoors, playing his guitar, and listening to music, especially the blues. He was an avid truck, boat and bike pilot. He loved engaging in spirited political debates with everyone, especially his father. Most importantly, he loved his family with everything he had. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Donna Hubbs; children, Nicholas (Brittany) Zabran, Rudy III (Nancy) Zabran, David (Kristina) Zabran, Amy (Ryan) Macken, Douglas Zabran, Caitlin Hubbs and Mackenzie Hubbs; numerous grandchildren and twin grandchildren due in September 2021; siblings, Arnold Zabran, Robin (Robert) Phillips, Carol "Jeannie" (Ronald) Jackson, and Dallas Zabran. His aunt Jean from Georgia, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many friends from across the countryside. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Douglas Zabran. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are being accepted by the family to support celebration of life services, which will be held at noon on July 11th at the Genoa VFW. Donations to the American Cancer Society or cancer charity of your choosing are also encouraged.
