Gwendolyn Aaron Obituary

Funeral services for Gwendolyn Ann Aaron, 57, will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Lilly Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Curtis Seals officiating. Burial will follow in the Talladega Westview Cemetery. The Body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Ms. Aaron passed away January 4, 2015 at Citizens BMC. Gwendolyn Ann Aaron was born on June 1, 1957, at Bellamy Memorial Hospital in Bellamy, Alabama to the union of the late Mr. Ed and Mrs. Birtharea Aaron. Gwendolyn accepted Christ at an early age, later rededicated her life back to Christ and became a member of Lily Hill Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Hospitality Committee. She was educated in the Talladega City School System. Throughout her employment experiences, she dedicated 15 years of her life to AIDB E.H. Gentry Campus where she was a cook; Talladega Forestry, Westview Funeral Home, Tip Top, Plaza Cleaners, and Independent caregiver. Ms. Aaron known by many as "Gwen Blue, Shorty Pimp, Granny, Aunt Gwen, and Ching-a-Ling." She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending Bible Study and Worship services, cooking, entertaining friends, serving others, and most of all positively impacting the lives of children. She was called to eternal rest on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Citizens BMC of Talladega, Alabama. Ms. Aaron was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents, Mr. and Birtharea Aaron; brother, Mr. Eddie Aaron; sisters, Ms. Alma Jean Powell, Ms. Maybelle Aaron, and Ms. Cora Kelly; and nephew, Mr. Malik Morris. As a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend she leaves to cherish her loving memories one son, Mr. Jason (Nakia) Aaron of Oxford, Alabama; one daughter, Mrs. LaKeshia (Tracy) Parker of Talladega, Alabama; two grandchildren, Ms. Kendrianna Aaron and Mr. Deontarius Harmon both of Talladega, Alabama; mother, Ms. Fannie "Madear" Twymon; three god-grandchildren, Ms. Zania White, Ms. Randreka Marbury, and Ms. Kelleceea Young-Kidd and Seddarius Barclay all of Talladega, Alabama; four brothers, Roger (Andrea) Aaron of Brooklyn, NY; George (Kimberly) Aaron of Florida; Morris Aaron, Henry F. (Viola) Twymon, and William L. (Jackie) all of Talladega, Alabama; sisters, Tracy Aaron of Houston, Texas, Sandra Aaron-Morris, Jessie Mae (Wayne) Howell, and Catherine (Manchester) Armbrester all of Talladega, Alabama; Uncle Matthew (Becky) Watkins of Dover, Delaware, Eddie (Tressa) Watkins of Dover, Delaware, Aunt Mary Watkins of Houston, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, beloved relatives and friends. A very special friend, Mr. Andrew "A.C." Jones. Visitation will be Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. The repast will be at Westgate Community Center. Westview Funeral Home will direct the services.
