This a a poem my wife Willa Dean wrote for Lola's 65th birthday:
Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets - it's stated in the song.
But, the Lola we know proves that to be wrong.
Our Lola is always on the giving end -
Ask her church, ask her town, ask her friends.
She gives her time, her culinary art, her organizing skill.
Just ask Lola to help, and she will.
Lola has a variety of other interests, too.
Evidence of this is her growing zoo.
You may see Lola with a perky "Red Hat" on her head
Or riding Scarlet, her beloved thoroughbred.
Her vast collection of dolls range from new to old.
And just like Lola, from demure to bold.
More times than not, Lola's Jack is by her side.
Sylacauga is glad he returned with his bride.
Together they've made quite an impact.
Not just an impression, but proven fact.
So Happy Brithday to our favorite go getter.
As each year passes, you'll only grow better.

Such a lovely person and hard to believe Lola has been gone for two years. Lola was such a great spirit and always willing to help and go above and beyond. She is missed and I think of her often. I am sure she is making great friends in heaven.

Lola was special in so many ways. Her presence in a room made the whole room a happier place. I can still hear her beautiful voice, and her wonderful laugh. She will be missed by her dear family and friends beyond words' ability to describe Our hearts go out especially to Jack, Tracey and George. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

I still remember her as my Aunt Lola when I was young. She had beautiful long blonde hair. Such a sweet lady. My heart is sad to hear she's gone but relieved she is not suffering any longer. Love to all my family. I pray for peace and comfort to you all.

Lola was such a wonderful lady. She was my right hand assistant at Eastpointe Country Club. I could not have done my job as manager withour her. She was bright, thoughtful, caring and on top of everything. She was a true gift to this world and me especially. Thank you Tracy for reaching out to me after all these years to connect us again. She left this world way too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Sandy Schenkat

I was given a wonderful gift when I married Tracey in 1985. And that was the most precious mother-in-law a young Air Force enlisted man, stationed in Germany, a long way from home, starting a family, could hope for. You taught me so much! About being a good parent, partner, and entertainer! You showed me the ropes in Air Force Life. You really helped me explode my love for Christmas! But most of all, you gave me unconditional love. You accepted me and encouraged me to be the man I am today. I have always loved you dearly. I am left with a lifetime of wonderful Christmas and good old regular celebrations too. And wonderful times traveling with Opa Jack. You two are the standard I've always strived for. I will miss you in the world! Love, B!

I can't believe you're gone Lola. Heaven must have needed a spitfire with sparkling blue eyes and a sweet generous big heart. You were always on my side and loved me unconditionally. I loved you so much for that - i was so lucky. I'm sorry we couldn't be close these past years but you know how much i cared about you. I will miss you forever.
