Lola E. Remson

Lola E. Remson, 74, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday the September 22, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jack G. Remson (U.S.A.F. Col Ret); her son, George Alvin Sanders IV., of Montgomery (Marina); George's son, Mathew Sanders, of Quincy, Ill.; daughter, Tracey E. Plew (Martin), of Childersburg; grandchildren, Nancey E. Plew, of San Jose, Calif.; precious great-granddaughters, Trinity Elane Plew, Mandy K. Plew (Justin Decesare), of San Jose; sisters, Barbara Rogers, of Leesburg, Va., Patricia Ann Skok (Craig), of Lawrenceville, Ga., Charlie S. Crews, of Williston (Tarja), Fla., Joyce Crazed (Doug), of Harpers Ferry W.V; Jacks children, Warren Volk, of Los Gatos, Calif., Greg Remson (Suzanne), of Sacramento, Calif., Caroline Dodson, of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Matthew and Cameron Ott, Jack Remson, Toby and Hunter. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Floyd Crews. Lola was a loving wife, mother and friend. She never met a stranger. She was an outstanding cook, and loved to entertain. She was renowned for her love of animals! Her dogs, cats, and horses were her joy. She Loved her Church (First Presbyterian of Sylacauga) and was an Elder. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and had a good time doing it. She took Christmas time to a whole other level. She loved Christmas, and all holidays. Lola had the heart of an Angel. She loved to laugh and made so many people happy. Lola traveled the world and had a wonderful life, being an Officers wife. She volunteered at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and blind equestrian center in Talladega. She had a passion for the Presbyterian home also in Talladega. She Loved to sing, everything from the oldies, to hymns, to rock and roll. She had the voice of an angel. She ultimately died from Alzheimer's disease. It is called the long goodbye for a reason. We pray for a cure soon. Lola would want people to educate themselves on this terrible disease that steals your most precious of memories. This lady, momma, grandma, wife, sister, and friend will be sorely missed here on earth, but she is whole today, no pain or suffering. She graduated Leesburg High school, Florida in 1961. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association, or the Presbyterian Children's home. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Curtis and Son Funeral Home in Sylacauga from 4-5 p.m., with the service and celebration of this precious woman's life, at 5 p.m. at Curtis and Son, North Chapel.
