Jeffrey M Porta of West Chester Jeffrey M Porta (Jeff), 31, of West Chester passed away Friday, December 25th at Neighborhood Hospice surrounded by his family and friends. He lost a difficult battle with ALK-positive lung cancer, a disease that attacks young, non-smoking adults. He was born February 26th, 1984 in Phoenixville, PA. After graduating from Twin Valley High School in 2002, Jeff joined the United States Air Force where he served his country and was able to travel the world. He then worked in Saudi Arabia as a civilian contractor. Most recently, Jeff worked for Aerzen USA in Coatesville as a Field Service Tech. Jeff was a member of the Amphibious Order of Frogs. He also enjoyed watching air shows and drag racing. Other interests included playing golf and watching the Philadelphia Flyers and Penn State football games. Jeff is survived by his parents Denny and Jackie (Shaw) Porta, his brother Greg, girlfriend Lauren Eder and their dog Maggie, and grandfathers Albert Porta and Robert Shaw. Additionally, he is survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Thursday December 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the James J. Terry Funeral Home 736 E. Lancaster Ave, Downingtown where friends may call from 9 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. Interment Northwood Cemetery In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester or the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania
