Thomas J. Hindelang

Thomas J. Hindelang, 68, of Kennett Square, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, while at work at Drexel University.
He was the husband of Christine T. Kydd, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage.
Born in Detroit, Mich., he was a son of the late John and Louise VanTiem Hindelang.
Tom was a 1965 graduate of the University of Detroit (accounting), a 1966 graduate of the University of Michigan (MBA), a 1969 graduate of Stanford University (MS in operations research), and a 1973 graduate of Indiana University (Ph.D.).
He was the vice dean of the LeBow College of Business Administration at Drexel University. He was also the George B. Francis Professor of Finance and executive director of the Center for Teaching Excellence. His career at Drexel University spanned almost 40 years.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Kennett Square where he was a former vestry member and treasurer.
Tom loved gardening and traveling with his family.
Survivors include, in addition to his wife, one son, Stephen Kydd-Hindelang of Kennett; one daughter, Meredith Kydd-Hindelang of New York, N.Y.; three brothers, Ron Hindelang (Jean) of Massachusetts, Robert Hindelang (Paula), and Father Joseph Hindelang, both of Michigan; and two sisters, Mary Hindelang (Mark) and Ann Noble, both of Michigan.
You are invited to visit with Tom's family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 401 N. Union St., Kennett Square.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will be held privately.
