Richard Johnson Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Johnson announces his passing, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 76 years old. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Debra Meza Johnson. Richard was a pastor for 45 years, and as his loved ones, we want to carry on his legacy. Every place he went he asked these 2 questions… Do you know Jesus? and How can I pray for you? He is survived by his 4 children. Christy (Josh) Sparwasser, and their children, Meza, Halle (Samuel), and Dalton. Paul Johnson and Holly Johnson and their children, Case, Kindal, and Delaney. Cherry (Justin) Hiens and their children, Annslee, Connor, Lilly, and Caleb. Joseph (Jessica) Johnson, and their children, Maddie, Jesslyn, Cheyenne, and granddaughter, Hallie. He has a sister, Gayle Kyle, and nieces and nephews, he dearly loved. He is reunited in Heaven with his wonderful parents, Thomas and June Johnson, and his precious sister, Carolyn Campbell. The celebration of his life will be at Memorial Park, on Friday, August 22, at 12:30 in the Riverside Chapel. If you would like to make a donation in honor of Richard, send it to Celebrate Recovery, at Longview Point, 1100 McIngvale Rd, Hernando, MS 38632. In closing, these 2 scriptures have brought our family so much comfort and we hope it will bring everyone the same comfort. Acts 13:36 "And David (Richard), after he had accomplished the purposes of God, in his generation, he fell asleep." Psalm 139:16 "Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in your Book were written all the days that were ordained for me (Richard), when as yet there was none of them."

Earlier today

Richard was a good friend in high school and always a a lot of fun . Richard was blessed with a special family-his Mom June, Dad, two sisters Carolyn and Gayle were as well good friends. May God be with Debra a former classmate and all of Richard´s family in this time of grief.
