Robert A. "Bob" Willis Jr.

1954 - 2024

Robert A. "Bob" Willis, Jr. passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Collierville, TN.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carolyn F. Davis who he frequently referred to as his "angel". Born in Memphis, TN on June 3, 1954; he resided in Collierville, TN for the last 23 years.

Bob dedicated his career to working with his father in their home building and real estate development firm. He was active in the Home Builders Association of Memphis (now known as the West Tennessee Home Builders Association) having earned the coveted "green jacket" and Life Spike Award signifying his recruiting efforts for new members of the association. His volunteer efforts included Germantown Jaycees, Germantown Fire Department and the Shelby County Sheriff's Department Emergency Services Division. He also volunteered in the media ministry for several years at Central Church then located in Memphis.

Bob was graduated from Wooddale High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. His hobbies were all things radio. He put together an extensive vinyl record collection from the 1950's and 60's. After his retirement, he was the executive producer of the internet radio show "Back to the Hop with Clarke Davis" heard on Top Shelf Oldies. Bob was an avid traveler having toured the United States, Mexico, Europe, England, Far East and Australia. He loved this country and Collierville.

Preceding him in death were his parents: Robert Willis, Sr. and Judy Mayo Willis, and brother, Richard Willis.

His funeral will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Dr. David Olford will be officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park following the funeral.
