Rufus Carruth Obituary

Rufus Wayne Carruth, age 84, of Germantown, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Wayne was born on June 24, 1940 in Barton, Arkansas to the late Rufus King & Vena Snyder Carruth.

He graduated from Barton High School Class of 1958 and then graduated from Mississippi State University in 1966 with a degree in Business. He served in the Air National Guard from 1963 to 1969 in Tennessee, North Carolina and Ohio. He married his love in 1964 Barbara McClendon Carruth. He was a salesman in the agricultural industry for American Cyanamid Chemical Company.

Along with his parents Wayne was preceded in death by his brother Marion Carruth and sister Sue Dismuke.

His legacy lives on with his wife of 61 years Barbara; daughter Christie (Matt) Bruegger of Austin, Texas and son Michael Carruth of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The family suggests any memorials in Wayne's honor be sent to the Germantown Church of Christ.
