My deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Skip Walton. We have truly lost a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His presence will be terribly missed on and off the court. But his spirit will carry-on. For he left us with his greatest legacy: devotion to family, friends, church, and community. He served his country and the Air Force with distinction, especially as my first sergeant. I will miss his sage counsel, but more importantly, the times we shared laughter and sorrow together. God Bless.

I Love my father "Daddy" always and forever. He is deeply missed and I just want to thank everyone who signed the guest book and for the flowers, and for attending his celebration of life ceremony.

"Skip"He was very Nice..He would always come to the studio With Candy..And support her.He will always be missed.No one will ever be like Skip..He was so kind hearted.He would say to me..Hey little one.I would have this little grin on my face.When i last saw him.Is when me and My Family came for dinner.He said the same thing.But he said You use to be so small.He was so kind.To the Walton Family..He is in a Better now.Out of all that Pain and Misery..I wish Everyone the best. I love the walton family...i new them for awhile..and MR.SKiP..WAS so funny...and caring..and meant what he said..he was always there for his family..to follow there dreams..he really incouraged that..but he is in a better place..and one day we all will see him again..with arms opened wide and a big smile..I love you guys

To the Walton Family: Skip will truly be missed. The impact that he had on people is truly unbelieveable. Though I didn't know him personally, I met him at at one of his family reunions and those that did know him personally, ALWAYS spoke of the wonderful person he was. I understand that he gave much of his time and talent as well as had a trememdous heart for children. He loved to shower people with gifts to express his love for them and he never knew a stranger. I understand that he had a personality that anyone would love to be around and a smile that would light up the world. To Skip's wife and children, remember, weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comething in the morning. May God Bless You all may HE keep you forever in HIS care!

Skip and I have known each other since 1998 as IT professionals and have since become friends in the last couple of years. I will miss our early morning chats about work, family and basketball (Walsingham & Norfolk Collegiate). Although I will miss Skip, I have found comfort in knowing that his pain is gone and he is with our Lord. I pray that the Lord will continue to comfort Skip's family and that your memories will allow Skip to live on in your hearts.

To know Skip is to know what is meant by the word legacy. He is a true word-picture. Skip will always be part of whoever came in contact with him. He had that effect. I have grown as a result of watching his courage and the courage he instilled in his wonderfull family. Although he will be missed here on earth, I am looking forward to seeing him in eternity. God blessed Skip and continues to bless his family.

For the past 5 yrs Skip was not only a coworker but a friend. He always had a spring in his step and a smile on his face. I admired his dedication to his father and children. Skip, your bravery has been an inspiration. You've always done for others and now it's your time to rest. May God bless you and your family. You will be missed.

I worked with Skip at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was always so friendly and pleasant. I will miss his warm smile. My deepest sympathy goes out to his beloved family and friends. God Bless!!

I worked with Skip at Riverside Hospital IT dept, then again while working as a Navy contractor in downtown Newport News. Years later our paths crossed again as we worked in same building at the Portsmouth shipyard. After all those years he was still the same - still smiling, still a go-getter, and still speaking of his family in high regard. I admired his strength and courage as he came to work even though he was not feeling well. My condolences to the Walton Family. May God be with you.

Skip was not just a friend, he was family. Everyone knows that his family came first, and that was all of us. He always went out of his way to help, no matter what the situation. He was a givver. Thank you, Skip, for all the support during the most diffucult times for me. You are a good soul and I can only hope that our paths cross again.

I am truly sorry to hear of your father's passing. I'm sure the past few months have been difficult for you and I know what's it's like to watch your father's health diminish. My father was ill for over 25 years but I rejoice in the fact that he is suffering no more. Know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and your father is at peace now.

I worked with Skip since 1998. He understood and cared about people. People were happy to be his friend and work with him. He was dedicated to his work, professional and did not hesitate to go an extra mile. His professionalism, pleasant attitude, optimistic outlook and courage got the job done while earning respect of his colleagues and friends. I will miss Skip.

Skip Walton was a man of many talents, but the one I can speak on is his love for the game of basketball and how he help to guide many young men and women in their pursuit of the game. I want the family to know that I will forever be truly gratiful for the tremedious job he did as assistant coach for the 1999-2000 Thomas Nelson Community College's Men's Basketball Team. He helped this team not just win a State Championship, but give the young men a role-model. He helped to instill true and lasting friendships among this group of students. They speak of him in such a fond and loving way. He saw more than just their athletic abilities. He bonded with them as individuals; caring about their lives beyond the game of basketball. He was a nurturing kind of person. His strong determination and love for game and for them, made him so very likeable. He was a man that I will always remember as genuine in his motions. He truly put his heart and soul into working with the guys and I thank God for the opportunity to have known him. We didn't always see eye to eye on the way to coach the team, but He truly did do a great job! In all that he did for the team, He never forgot about his family. They were never far from his side. He was very devoted to his wife and to his children, and as they were to him. I know he will be missed by the players and myself. The community has lossed a good man. May God continue to give the family the strength needed to endure this loss. I pray God's blessings upon each of you.

You know who this is, when you hear my voice and called you Keeeeper. We're been friends for so long, and know each other's personal private lives. We are one happy family altogether. To the point that no one can imagine that we are not only good friends but a very-very close brother. Skip was a fine person, and it was a pleasure to know him. His sharp wit and distinctive laugh made him a joy to be around. In hearing of his passing, I was deeply saddened, but relieved that his pain was over and heaven was his new home. Althought, I only knew Skip for a few months. Knowing him has impacted me for a lifetime. He showed such strength, dedication and will each and every day. Eventhought he was dealing with a battle within himself, he would always take the time to find out how I was doing. He was a kind soul that always emphasized put God and your family first, eat heathly and live life to the fulless and for that I want to tell him "Thank You". Skip... You will never be forgotten!

IF words can really express how I feel. God has put (SKIP) in a better place. I just want to say when I met SKIP and his daughter Melissa Walton (Bailey) it was like I knew them forever. I have adopted the family into my life, it is a true blessing to be a part of them. Skip was a wonderful person and MAN that handled things with love and care. He was about business and making sure his family was happy. He never turned his back on anyone always there when you needed him. SKIP you are going to be really tremendously missed and may GOD KEEP you in his arms with peace now. I love you!!!!

The last time I saw Skip, he was standing in the shipyard parking lot. I just stopped to see if he was o.k. He gave me that wonderful smile that I will always remember and said he was just fine. We will miss you.

In the few years I have had the pleasure to know and work with Skip Walton, I have come to understand several things about him that I will keep forever. Skip loved and enjoyed his family. His pride in them was exceeded only by his concern for their well being. Skip loved his work and by his actions you could tell that he considered us as family too. Skip was one of the most fun guys I've ever worked with. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious. He was also a consumate professional at what he did. I consider myself blessed and privileged to have worked with him these past two years. He will be missed by many.
