Joseph Butler Obituary
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Ruffin and Rosebel (Basden) Butler, his brother David Butler, and sister Jane Branch. Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 60 years, Alice W. Butler, Daughters Angie (Steve) Farmer, Jodi (Eric) Funkhouser, Grandchildren James (Alisha) Funkhouser, Steven (Casey) Farmer, Ellen (Alex) Owens, Chad Funkhouser, and Great Grandchildren Kylee Harrison, Cora Funkhouser, Lilly Funkhouser, Ashby Owens, Basden Owens, brother-in-law Kenny Branch, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 6:00 - 7:30 PM, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes Riverside Chapel. Interment to follow in Joe's hometown of Scotland Neck, NC on Saturday, February 25, 2023, 11:00 AM at Scotland Neck Cemetery. Garrett-Sykes Funeral Home, Letchworth Chapel is assisting with burial and graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Joe's honor be made to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
