Lucy Fanshaw Obituary

NORFOLK - Lucy Inge Fanshaw passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Riverside Hospital, Newport News, Va.
She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and more recently a resident of Yorktown. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, for 85 years.
Mrs. Fanshaw was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cutler Inge; her brother, Ernest Cutler Inge Jr.; and her husband, Benjamin Franklin Fanshaw.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Mason and husband, Shannon, of Yorktown; her daughter, Sydney Weis, of Atlanta, Ga.; her sister, Frances Baker, of Norfolk; her grandchildren, Shannon Mason of Newport News; Benjamin Mason and his wife, Kelli, of Newport News; Mark Mason of Atlanta, Ga.; Paige Bryan and her husband, Tom, of Richmond; Randy Weis and his wife, Shannon, of Richmond; Ann Carter Catlett of Atlanta, Ga.; and Michael Weis and his wife, Tamara, of Atlanta, Ga..; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. Jim Wood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507.

Mary Lou and Sydney,
Our parents shared many good times in Sandston, Jesse and Dot Shumate. When I think of your parents I remember smiles and life being enjoyed. What happy memories you must have. Hang on to them for they will bring you comfort. You are in my prayers during this difficult time. June Shumate Baldwin
