Samantha BACHAND Obituary
She was a resident of Hampton, Va., but was lucky enough to have lived all over. Samantha was born on April 23, 1987, at Sentara Hospital in Hampton, Va. She was a proud graduate of Kecoughtan High School, where she was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. She joined the ROTC and was very proud of her accomplishments, while she was involved in it. Her family was also very proud of her.
Samantha joined the Air Force, not long after graduation, which she was very excited about. She could not wait to spread her wings and travel the world, which she was able to do by serving in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
She is survived by her parents, Duane and Danette Bachand; brothers and sisters, Joshua Bachand, Paige Bachand and Corey Condon; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Veronica Bachand; maternal grandparents, Ernest Montgomery and his wife, Bonnie, and Sherry Clark and her husband, Raleigh; aunts and uncles, Dawn, Derek, Darryl, Kelly and Shannon; and nephew, Jordan Anthony Woodland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made in Samantha's memory to your favorite charity.

Our heartfelt love goes out to you all ..... Our greatest pain is that we are here in Vermont and can't be there to comfort you. Sami was a bright-eyed beautiful girl so full of aspirations and hope. I remember her stay at my place along with her family during our family reunion of 2001. It is still precious to me that we were able to be together. May you all find comfort, strength, & peace as you grieve together and with your individual families and friends. Our thoughts and love will be with you on Monday as you gather together to honor her and show respect for all of her accomplishments in her life. I was so saddened this morning reading about Samantha's death. I was her Kindergarten teacher. What a beautiful child she was. She had not changed a bit. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
