Charlie and my father were such close friends. The entire family meant a great deal to me as a kid--we would have regular dinners with our two families. I have many happy memories of the Super8 movie camera that Charlie used to film us all goofing around, cutting down trees, having picnics etc. Charlie was never closer to our family than when he helped my father through the worst of the Guillian-Barre paralysis that had such a huge impact on his life. Charlie Kaut was the very best kind of friend you could ever ask for.
