deLeyer Joan Obituary
Joan Virginia deLeyer Joan Virginia deLeyer, 70, of Dyke, Virginia, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at her residence. She was born on April 27, 1943, in Massachusetts, to the late Albin and Virginia Gaisunas. Joanie was an avid equestrian who loved her farm, horses, dogs as well as foxhunting and working in her gardens. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother as well as an amazing cook! She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Harry deLeyer; her daughter, Jennifer Dahlman Gurney of Cazenovia, New York; her son, Ernest Dahlman of San Diego, California; her grandchildren, Ava, Eliza, Wesley, Chase, and Peyton; her brother, Gary Gaisunas; and a special friend, Carolyn Arney. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216 Glenn Allen, VA 23058-5216. An online guest book is available at www.ryanfuneral.com. Ryan Funeral Home of Ruckersville, is handling the arrangements.
