Lynne Duncan Obituary

Lynne Marie McIntyre Duncan

September 16, 1962 - November 7, 2024

Lynne Marie McIntyre Duncan, 62, of Scottsville, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, with her husband by her side. She was born September 16, 1962, in Beauford, SC. Lynne spent the majority of her career as a hairstylist before the physical demands required that she choose other career paths.

Lynne enjoyed many hobbies including needlepoint, diamond art, reading, and sitting by the pool. She also loved visiting new places. She and Tim were blessed to visit with family and friends across the country in the last few years before her illness became too debilitating.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Tim; three children Geoff Duncan (Michelle), Josh Duncan (Mary), and Marissa Duncan (Gaines); parents Milton and Joan McIntyre of Pacific, MO; brother Patrick McIntyre (Hillary); sister Kathleen Narboni (Anne); and seven grandchildren Ashton, Henry, Abigail, Mason, Hadlee, Ariel, and AnnaLee. She is also survived by her in-laws Dean and Doris Duncan, sister-in-law Deana, several nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as her furry friends Charlie and Kona.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Jeremy Turlington, her home health nurse Nancy Shoemaker, and Hospice of the Piedmont for all the great care provided to Lynne during her illness. The numerous friends and family that provided support with meals, visits, phone calls, and most of all prayer are too numerous to mention. Thank you!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7th at 3:00 p.m. at Fork Union Baptist Church 4745 James Madison Highway, Fork Union, VA conducted by Pastors Anthony Clore and Randy Golladay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mission MSA to support multiple system atrophy research at: Mission MSA 1660 International Drive, Suite 600, McLean, VA 22102 (donate.missionmsa.org).

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.abettercremation.org.

Hey cousin Lynn! You were one of the good ones in Lakewood growing up! Always cool to me even when I was the younger of the kids sitting at the kids table at Thanksgiving! Just know you were a great older cousin! Bittersweet the memories. Thinking about you Milt and Patrick. You be pain-free in heaven and you will always be loved.
