Frances F. Staley passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga. She was born on September 17, 1918, in Oak Hill, W.Va. to the Rev. Thomas Henry and Laura Huddleston Fitzgerald. She graduated from Concord College and taught 4th grade for many years in Fluvanna County, Va. She, along with her husband Pollard, lived for over 50 years at Old Orchard in Scottsville, Va. She was known for her sense of style and gift of hospitality, which was shared with all who had the privilege to know her. Mrs. Staley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Henryand Liz Staley of Suwanee, Georgia; grandchildren, Jamieand Dana Staley of Washington, D.C., and Davidand Erin Staley of Cumming, Ga.; niece, Cynthia Walker of Thurmont, Md.; niece, Jane Paulson of Beckley, W.Va. and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Pollard Leverette Staley; and son, John Pollard Staley. Visitation will be held at Bill Head Funeral Home in Duluth, Ga. onThursday, June 29, 2017,from 6 until 8 p.m. A memorial service will be heldat Duluth First United Methodist Church on Friday, June 30, 2017,at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. C. Kay Fuino. A graveside service at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday, July 1, 2017,at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Prayer Quilt Ministry at Duluth First UMC, Duluth, Ga. or Scottsville Presbyterian Church in Scottsville, Va.
