Carolyn Nichelle Thomas, 46, of Palmyra, transitioned to her heavenly home on July 11, 2017. Carolyn was born on February 16, 1971. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Waverly Nelson Thomas, Sr. and Pearl (Tynes) Thomas; maternal grandparents, Eugene Marshall Creasy and Viola (Randolph) Creasy. Carolyn worked as a data entry clerk at UVA Medical Center, a CNA at the Colonnades, and Payroll Support Specialist at Region Ten Community Services Board. Carolyn was an avid reader and writer who loved nature. She was a member of New Fork Baptist Church and was a current member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Charlottesville, Va. Family and faith was the essence of Carolyn's walk on earth. She devoted her life to spending quality time with the elderly and loving her neighbor as herself. Carolyn was a walking miracle with a purpose driven motivation to demonstrate the love of God to those in need. Her merry heart did much good, fulfilled its purpose, and continues to live on. She is survived by her grandmother, Annie Thomas of Fork Union; her parents, Waverly and Dolores Thomas of Palmyra; two sisters, Valerie and Tammi Thomas of Palmyra; one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Keisha Thomas of Palmyra; three nieces, Khalia, Kaia, and Kelise Thomas of Palmyra; one nephew, Kamaal Thomas of Palmyra; and a host of extended family and friends A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017, at New Fork Baptist Church, Palmyra, Va. Interment in church cemetery. Arrangements by Colbert Wiley Funeral & Cremations, Bremo Bluff, Va.
