Dr. MacIlwaine, and his wonderful family, were a huge influence on my life. Many of his interests, such as electronics and stereo equipment, fueled much of my youth. I learned a lot "breaking" the things that Allen and I discovered in the attic. Some of my best memories of Waynesboro are deeply rooted in the MacIlwaine family.

Dr. MacIlwaine was my family doctor until I married and moved away. I have always considered him one of the best. His family will be in my prayers.

Dr. Macllwaine was my family doctor from the time I was a little girl until he retired. As I got older and I became more self conscious about going to the doctor, he told me he was only hurting my dignity a little and nothing else. I always remembered that. He is in heaven with my father now and I am sure he is telling him to give up that pipe. My prayers are with the family.

Dr. Macllwaine saved my life when I was a very small child. He had a choice between saving me and waiting for my parents to sign for the operation - unselfishly he chose to save my life regardless of the consequences. I have no doubt he is with our Lord this day. Thank you for the sacrifices you made as a family to allow us to have such a fine physician. May God comfort your family through the sad days ahead.

Dr. MacIlwaine was our parents' doctor in Waynesboro where we grew up. He and Rosemary were always so kind, and Mama and Daddy were very fond of them both. What a remarkable life he had. We send our sympathy to each of you.
