Woodrow White Obituary

Woodrow Wilson White, 93, of Madison, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at his residence. He was born November 27, 1912, in Madison County. He was the son of the late James White and Sally Burnette White and husband of the late Eva Belle Jenkins White and Elna Byram White.

He was a retired federal employee for ASCS in Madison. He was a member and past board member of Greene Hills Country Club, member of James Banks Masonic Lodge and past president of Brightwood Ruritan Club, a deacon and on the boards of trustees member of Rapidan Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda White Giegel of Madison; two grandchildren, Elijah Wilson Gigel of Cary, North Carolina and Alicia Jean Eva Gigel of Madison, Virginia; and a great granddaughter, Willow Eve Mayer.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28 2006, at Preddy Funeral Home, Chapel in Madison with interment in Rose Park Rapidan Cemetery. Rev. Jennifer Kelly will officiate.

The family will receive friend from 6 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Volunteer Rescue Squad PO Box 868, Madison VA 22727.

Linda, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time of loss and sorrow. Your Dad was a special person, and I enjoyed the few years I knew him. I always enjoyed the responses to the notes and cards I sent to him. May God bless you and your family in your loss.
