Edward P. Reid, 88, Of Clearwater, Florida, formerly of Madison, N.J. passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at home in Florida following a long illness. Born in Ridgewood, Queens New York, he lived in Madison, N.J. for fifty years before moving to Florida five years ago. He graduated from Columbia Engineering and Fordham Law School. Ed was an Electrical Engineer, and owned and operated Fire Alarm Service Corporation in Lyndhurst, N.J. for 33 years until his retirement in 2002. He was a veteran of World War II. Ed was also a member of St. Vincent Martyr Parish and St. Brendan's.

His first wife, Lois Ann predeceased him in 2006. Edward is survived by his wife Ruth of Clearwater, Florida and his sons, Tom, Brian, Jim, Kevin and his wife Felicia, and Paul as well as his daughter-in-law, Tricia and his sisters, Ann Reid, Margaret Brewster and Patricia Roberts. Beloved Grandfather of Anna, Carson, Gabrielle, Madeline, MacKenzie, Penelope and many nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his son Michael and brothers-in-law Richard Brewster and Norman Roberts.

A Memorial Mass for Edward will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Green Village Road, Madison, N.J. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery, Noe Avenue, Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Morristown Medical Center, 100 Madison Avenue, Morristown, N.J. 07960
