AGE: 89 • Whippany
Julia Elizabeth Risman, 89, of Whippany, passed away on Tuesday September 9, 2014 at Care One, Hanover Twp.
Born and raised in Plainfield, Julia graduated from Plainfield High School in 1943. She then lived in Piscataway before settling in Hanover Twp. She belonged to the Catholic Women's Club of Plainfield, then the Morristown Women's Club, where she served as the treasurer. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy parish in Whippany.
Predeceased by her husband, Jack Risman, sister Rose Merola Risman, brothers Louis J. Merola and Guy A. Merola, and niece Lisa Merola Rodriguez; Julia is survived by her son, Peter Risman; daughter-in-law Julie Schaff Risman; grandchildren Chase, Becca and Hannah Risman; brother Frank A. Lieto, and sister Anita Lieto Ferrante; 6 nephews and 3 nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10am at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany Rd., Whippany. Everyone is invited to please meet directly at the chapel. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, Whippany. There will be a visitation on Friday from 4-8pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., Whippany.
