MURRAY WILLIAM WEISS ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA Murray William Weiss, beloved husband to Mimi Selig, brother of Robert (Sylvia), father of David (Bobbie), step-father to Karen (Jack Merwin) Selig, Jerry (Patti) Selig, Bryna (Keith Robinson) Selig, and Marcy (Jack) Levy Klassen and Edee (John) Levy Nichols; grandfather to Zoe Weiss and Clea Weiss, Rebecca (Rich) Heironimus, Marcus Selig, Alyssa Selig Merwin, Amy Robinson, Jason Robinson, and three great-grandchildren. Born in the Bronx, New York to Albert and Sophia Weiss on Nov. 28, 1924, Murray served in the Navy on the USS Lapwing seaplane tender during WW II and attended NYU before going into business. A builder of houses, churches and temples, he was a partner in F. M. Weiss Realty Co. with his brother Robert in the Westchester Square area of the Bronx. He was a member of AOPA and flew single engine aircraft for nearly sixty years. Murray flew Air Lifeline as a volunteer pilot for burn victims. He and his wife Mimi moved from Rockville, MD to St. Augustine in 2004, where he was an active member of Temple Bet Yam. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, January 9 at 10 a.m. at Temple Bet Yam, Wildwood Drive, St. Augustine, FL. The family will be receiving family and friends from 8 p.m. on Wednesday the 5th and 7p.m. Thursday. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or to Temple Bet Yam.
