Raymond Harland Vanderhoof

AGE: 74 • Roxbury Township

Mr. Raymond Harland Vanderhoof, 74, died on January 27, 2016 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Morristown and grew up in Dover. He lived in Mine Hill before moving to Landing 50 years ago. He was the owner of Ad-Venture Graphics in Succasunna for 25 years and previously worked at Picatinny Arsenal for 30 years before completing his government service at Fort Monmouth Military Base at CECOM. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake R C Church in Mt. Arlington. He was a former member of the Roxbury Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and the founder of the Cruise for Kids car show. Earlier on he was a Past President of Little League and Sr. Babe Ruth in Roxbury Township.

He is survived by his wife Diane (Rossi) Vanderhoof of 54 years, two sons; Raymond (and Margaret) Vanderhoof of Long Valley and Todd Vanderhoof (and Cathy) of Roxbury and his grandsons Kyle and Brandon. He also leaves his sisters; Lynn (and Paul) Swidersky of MD and Elisa and brother-in-law Robert (and Margaret) Rossi of Landing.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, (973-584-7264) (www.davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday, January 29, from 2 - 5 & 7 - 9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Mt. Arlington with the interment to follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover.

I'm very sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I don't think I ever played an oldie that he didn't love. I also enjoyed his stories about the service. May his soul find the peace he deserves. I won't be able to be at his service but he and all of his friends and family will be in my prayers. God Bless.
