HOPATCONG -- Terry R. Simpson passed away on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. He was 60.
He was born in Orange and grew up in Lake Hiawatha. He later moved to Vermont and lived there for 29 years before moving to Hopatcong in October of 2003.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1968.

He was a master plumber for Smithco Plumbing and Heating in Morris Plains for four years. Prior to that, he worked for Fred's Plumbing & Heating in Newport, Vt., for 24 years.
He was a member of the Vermont Elks Club in Derby, Vt., where he was a past exalted ruler. He was also a great fan of the New York Giants and loved fishing, especially with his son.
He was predeceased by his devoted parents, Robert and Delores; and his dear brother, Bobby.
Survivors include his beloved wife, LindaJoy (Sturzebecker); his loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kara of Wharton; his loving step-son, Joseph Hartmann of Hopatcong; his dear brothers and sisters, Joe and his wife, Sue, Paul and his wife, Diane, Jimmy and his wife, Cami, Debbie George and her husband, Len, and Lori Marcus and her husband, Mike, all of Newport, Vt.; and his two treasured granddaughters, Emma and Julia. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday at Saint Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 179 Baldwin Road, Parsippany. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
