Keith Baity Obituary

Keith Flake Baity
October 26, 1956 – March 25, 2025
Keith Flake Baity passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Bedford, New Hampshire, at the age of 68.
Keith was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on October 26, 1956, and was the identical twin of John Cooley Baity Jr.. He grew up in Larchmont and Rye, New York, and attended Deerfield Academy from 1970 to 1974. He graduated from Princeton University in 1978 and went on to earn his MBA from Columbia Business School in 1982.
Keith began his career as a risk arbitrageur at Bear Stearns before transitioning into international financial consulting, a field in which he spent most of his professional life. He lived and worked around the world-including in Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Paris-bringing his sharp intellect, global perspective, and deep curiosity to every endeavor.
Keith had a brilliant mind and a unique ability to understand complex financial structures.
He was also an avid and accomplished golfer and a passionate squash player. But his greatest joy came from being with his family. He especially cherished holidays and family celebrations. Keith was exquisitely generous, kind, and funny-someone who brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. He shared a singular, lifelong bond with his identical twin brother, John-a connection both instinctive and enduring, formed before birth and carried through every chapter of his life. He also shared a deeply rooted relationship with his mother, Jeanie, whose unconditional love and loyalty were his lifelong anchor.
He is survived by his son, Marco Baity Jesi of Zürich, Switzerland; his twin brother, John Cooley Baity Jr.; and his sister-in-law, Lisa Baity, of Bedford, New Hampshire; and his sister, Cheryl R. Baity of Darien, Connecticut. He is also survived by his father, John C. Baity, and his stepmother, Patricia A. Baity, both of Greenwich, Connecticut; as well as his nieces and nephews: Brianne Gallagher of Medford, Massachusetts; Ryan Falla of Austin, Texas; and Connor Falla of Charlotte, North Carolina. Most importantly, Keith is survived by his beloved mother, Bette Jean "Jeanie" Plant of Darien, Connecticut.
A private family gathering will be held at Noroton Presbyterian Chapel in Darien to honor his life.
Keith will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Dear Baity Family, I´m shocked to learn about Keith. Was Googling the Baitys to see what´s been happening, and Keith popped up, so sadly, not at all what I expected.

Have been missing the Baitys for 63 years, fantastic neighbors on Red Oak Drive in Rye, NY and my first best friends. John and Keith were 4-5 years old, so was I, in kindergarten together, with our birthdays only four days apart. Little tot Cheryl would gaze out of the lower window of the storm door as we carried on outside.

Saw Jeanie briefly when teeing off at Winged Foot years later as a teenager participating in a junior competition. Jeanie, your memory is amazing. You immediately recognized me, even though I wasn´t sure who you were, and as always, you were so friendly and welcoming, helping me to figure it out. Thank you!

Apparently, sixty-three years is a blink of an eye. Where did the time go so fast?

Jeanie, John Jr., Cheryl, and John Sr., I´m so sorry for our loss of Keith. What a bright ray of laughing, happy sunshine he was and always will be in our memories. R.I.P, Keith, until we meet again, ~Matt Frost, Burlington, MA [email protected]

To Keith and his Dear Family. I am saddened by the News of Keith's sudden and too soon passing.
Although our paths were late in life and too short, we shared His Family and Brother Johnny.i will always remember his happy outlook toward days that seemed
challenging, but like Bob Seeger said,.. just wait and ..."turn a page".
Keith kept on looking for the stars... Now ...he's one of them .. Glad I was a part of a Stars life . Thanks Brother!!!

What to say about Keith?
For nine months, I got to know Keith, and he was a friend. On times of need, he shared with me Carole King's song, "You've got a Friend."
He was a great researcher. He was intelligent, knowledgeable, had organized thoughts, was organized, loyal, and had a great taste.
He loved his mother, and missed her. He loved his son, and was proud of him.
All he wanted was to feel loved, respected, and to achieve his goals.
Thank you for sharing friendship, respect, and kindness to me.
Rest in peace, Keith!

"Guide me thru the night
Take away my fright
Guide me thru the night
To some distant light." Poem by Keith Flake Baity - Nov 2024

Uncle Keith,
You took so much pride in family traditions, like our animal nicknames and the egg fight. I'll always cherish your humor - those funny jokes written in newspaper margins and how much thought you put into your gifts.

Love you and miss you.

I am going to miss you so much Bradley. You were such a good person -- and it is not fair you are gone. I am so beyond sad for the years Mom and I lost. I will always love and remember you. Your baby sister "wobble".
