Charles Dunn Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

DUNN, Charles Raymond "Ray" age 78 of Brookville, OH, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Clermont Nursing Care Center in Milford, OH. Ray was born in his beloved grandparent's cotton plantation home near Dalton, GA on May 3, 1926. Ray proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-17 pilot in training during WWII. Ray was an outspoken and talented artist that retired from NCR's Displays & Exhibits Department in 1989 following an exciting and deadline filled 33+ year career. Ray "the entrepreneur" wore many hats and was also known and respected by many as "The Signman", and earlier by his family run venture known as the Circle D Pheasant Ranch. As an avid fisherman, Ray was a proud member of the "International Brotherhood of Fishing Fools" (IBOFF) and was often seen casting a line in Luddington, MI, on the Maumee River in Ohio, on Lake James in Angola, IN or Heritage Lake in Filmore, IN. Ray was a loving, loyal and devoted family man who lived his life by the "Golden Rule". Ray is survived by his best friend (and grandson) Hans Geisterfer, daughter and son-in-law: Denise (Allan) Boyack of Newtown, PA; son and daughter-in-law: Gregory (Suzanne) Dunn of North Fort Myers, FL; 97 year old mother: Bess Dunn of Clermont Nursing Care Center; grandchildren: Hans & Erica Geisterfer, Brandon & Jeffery Dunn, and Jennifer, Travis & Matthew Dunn; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry (Gloria) Dunn of Milford, OH, Gene (Aileen) Dunn of Filmore, IN; and numerous beloved family members and friends. Ray was preceded in death by the love of his life and loving wife of 47 years: Virginia (Myers) Dunn (1993); son: Stephen Lee Dunn (2003); brother: Donald Dunn (1997), and father: Augustus Fite "Judge" Dunn (1981). Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 4 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with Chaplain Hal Copley officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made in Ray's memory to either the Alzheimer's Association or the Dayton VA Medical Center. Dearest Beloved Father,

Mere words cannot express the depth of the loss I feel. I am so blessed to have had you as my loving father for so many years. You have touched my life deeply and profoundly. May you rest in peace, dear sweet father, embraced by and welcomed into the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Until we are reunited...
