Newcomer, Jacobi L. "Jake"

Jacobi L. Newcomer "Jake", age 50 of Miamisburg, passed away September 26, 2024. He was born January 25, 1974 in Dayton, the son of Gary and Linda (Waisanen) Newcomer. Jacob was preceded in death by his father, Gary. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving mother, Linda Newcomer; best big sister, Jennifer Newcomer and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and dear friends all over the country. Jacob attended and graduated from The Ohio State University and then went on to earn his Master's Degree in Education from Portland State University. He taught in different school districts all around for ten years. He owned and operated KJR Contractors business in Miamisburg. Jacob formed two bands, one in Cincinnati and one in Columbus and was an extremely talented singer/songwriter. Music was the passion of his life. He got his first guitar at 12 and taught himself to play. He had probably written over 100 songs and loved to play bluegrass, Americana, and classic rock. He was an avid sports fan, outdoorsman and loved his little fishing boat. Jacob enjoyed cooking, reading and loving life in general. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church (6245 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45459). A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ALS Association of Central & Southern Ohio Chapter, 1170 Old Henderson Rd., Suite 221, Columbus, OH 43220, in Jacob's memory.
