CLUXTON, Ray B. died suddenly on Monday, April 12, 2010. He was a loving man who enjoyed every moment of life and lived it with vitality and great energy until the very end. Always the optimist, Ray was a wonderful model of strength and integrity to all who knew him. Born on April 20, 1929 to Harry and Mildred (Eckstein) Cluxton, he was a lifelong resident of Miamisburg, Ohio where he was an active and respected member of the community. He was also a member of the board of the Independent State Bank of Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Leonard. Ray is survived by his wife, Shirley (Masters), to whom he was married for almost 60 years and was the father of four sons, Doug, Jeff (Vicki), Eric (Dana) and Roger (Peggy Kennedy). He had 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, a sister, Rita Grump, a brother, Lewis (Charlotte) Cluxton and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service, in Ray's memory, will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE FUNERAL HOME, MIAMISBURG. Mayor Dick Church will officiate. I've had the pleasure of cutting Ray's hair every month for 34 years. It was hard news to hear when I got a call about his passing. Shirley, Ray was our go-between for our messages. Now that that will stop please know I will still be thinking of you often-always. We were all so lucky to have him in our lives. He loved you & his family so very much. Eric & Roger, I am so sad for you. I'm sorry you lost your father. I will also be thinking of you both. Love to you all.

"Unable are the loved to die. For love is immortality." ~Emily Dickinson. Ray was a kind & caring person. I first met "Mr. Cluxton when he & Doug picked me up to go see "Hawaii", the movie. I remember we went to Neil's Heritage house for dinner. In 1973 "Mr. Cluxton" hired me to work at F&M bank. He was a fair & forward-thinking leader."When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." ~Author Unknown Peace to all. Judy

Dear Shirley and the Cluxton Family,

We were deeply saddened to learn of Ray's unexpected and sudden death. He was an exceptional human being, great community contributor, successful businessman, beloved husband and father. He always had a willing smile and a warm hand shake for those he came in contact with. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dear Cluxton Family. While I did not know Ray, I know Doug and the great times our "Convocation" Group has when we meet for dinner. Apples don't fall far from the tree and I am sure Ray was someone special. I offer my prayers for you all and your sorrow.

April 14, 2010

Ray was a devoted leader in our community. He was the true " gentle man". Ray leaves with a lasting memory of his life among us. We deeply regret we are unable to extend our love and sympathy to the family in person.

April 14, 2010

Doug, I am sorry to hear of the death of your Father. Please be assured of my prayerful sympathy. I hope the following prayer will be of some consolation to you, your Mother and the rest of the family.
"We seem to give him back to You, O God, who did give him to us. Yet as You did not lose him in giving, so we do not lose him by his return. Not as the world gives, do You give, O lover of souls. What you give, You do not take way, for what is Yours is ours also if we are Yours. And ife is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only an horizon, and an horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
Lift us up, strong son of God, that we may see further, cleanse our eyes that we may see more cleraly; draw us closer to Yourself, that we may know ourselves to be nearer to our loved ones who are with You. And while You prepare a place for us, prepare us also for that happy place that where You are, we may be also forevermore. Amen."

Fondly,
Fr. Vinny

I am extremely saddened to hear of Ray's passing. My deepest condolences go out to Shirley and the entire Cluxton family. There is not a memory over the 24 years of my life that I have of F&M that does not include Ray...as a little girl going to work with my Mom, I would always be sure to stop in his office and say Hi! He was so kind to me and my family. Ray is an inspiration to work hard, follow what you believe in, and NEVER stop doing what you love. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sad to hear of Rays passing. Anyone who grew up in Miamisburg during the 60's until he retired, knew Ray. He was on so many committees and did so much for the citizens of Miamisburg. He was a good man, easy to talk with. Just a real down home Gentleman. Ray treated every person as family. He had a smile or joke for all. For his son's,His wife, My heart is heavy and I share your loss. I recall well the last time I saw Ray and Shirley, June of 09 at the Msbg Alumni Dinner Dance weekend. Ray never missed being on hand for it. My thoughts and prayers go to the family.
