SEWELL, Robert L. Jr. 77, of 329 North Broadway Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday June 15, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital Dayton, Ohio. He was born December 31, 1926 in Richmond, Indiana., Son of the late Robert Lloyd Sewell Sr. and Anna (Conder) Sewell Brown. He was employed from 1949-1983 at General Motors of Moraine City as a General Foreman of Plant #2. Veteran of W.W. II serving 1943-1946 in the U.S. Navy Sea Bees underwater demolition. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville, served on Church Council and various other committees. Life Member Greenville V.F.W., Member Dayton Foreman's Club, a former member of the Grace Lutheran Church of West Carrollton Ohio where he had served as President of the Church Council and been involved in Finance and Fund raising for the Church. Member of Versailles Masonic Lodge #290, a former member of the Ansonia Eastern Star. A Past Member of the former Ansonia Masonic Lodge #488-serving in 1985. Past High Priest of Greenville Chapter #77-Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of Matchett Council #91-Royal and Select Masons, Past Eminent Commander of Coleman Commandery #17 of Troy and a Recipient of Knight York Cross of Honor. Preceded in death by his parents, son: Robert L. Sewell III-1966, sisters: Wanda Sewell Melton-1991 & Joyce Ann Sewell- 1938, brother: David Yundt-1997. Survived by wife Mrs. Marcella (O'Brien) Sewell of Greenville-Married January 25, 1947; son: Stephen A. Sewell (Sarah) of Greenville; grandchildren: Brien Robert Sewell and Marc Kenzle Sewell; brother: Jack Sewell, Kentucky. Services 10:00 A.M. Friday June 18, 2004 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 131 East Fourth St., Greenville, Pastor Haldon Robarge & Pastor Peter Menke co-officiating. Burial Greenville Cemetery. No Visitation. Arrangements by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville.
