David M. Manley, age 89, of Wilmington, DE passed away December 17 after a brave battle with bone cancer. He was 89.

David was born in Pittsburg, PA, the son of Louis K. and Sarah Mitchell Manley. David attended Princeton University and University of Miami Law School. He was a proud alumni of Yale University, class of 1948. He was a World War II Navy veteran who served from 1943-46. He always fondly remembered the warm welcome he and other service members received upon the end of the war.

David began his professional career at EF Hutton followed by Bache and Co. He joined NatWest USA (Delaware) in 1969 and worked there until retiring in 1996 as Vice President, General Manager and Treasurer.

He was known for his deep, radio voice and enjoyed traveling with his wife Ann. They traversed the globe on many cruises, were frequent visitors to Hawaii and their favorite destination, New Orleans. He enjoyed listening to jazz and Benny Goodman, eating oysters and gumbo.

He was a dog lover, had bred dachshunds and enjoyed the company of many canine companions throughout his life, including Ava, his surviving Chihuahua.

David was predeceased by his first wife, Carol Manley, son Keith and sister Dr. Sarah Jane Williams.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 27 years, Ann Manley, two sons, David Manley Jr. of New Hampshire, and Dr. John Manley of Connecticut, daughter-in-law Beth and his grandchildren Kyle, Ryan, Scot and Lora, niece Mary W. Drouillard, nephew, Alexander (Sandy) W. Williams and cousin Dana Tomlinson.

Dave will be dearly missed by many in-laws including Carol and David Winn, Robert and Carol Boytano, Janet Boytano, Nancy and Jay Keyser, Lawrence Boytano, Robert Clancy, Jean Toscano and Bud Mowday as well as friends Jane Sandiford, Christine and Tim Hidell, Margo and Ned Palsgrove, Bill and Martha Marsey.
