Fiorelli, Sr.
John T. Fiorelli, Sr. "Jack", 75 of Wilmington, DE died on Saturday morning March 28, 2009 at the Hillside Center surrounded by his family.
Jack was the son of the late Mary and Joseph Fiorelli and a 1951 graduate of Salesianum School.He worked for over 30 years for the U.S. Postal service, retiring as the manager of the Union Street branch in 1989. After retiring he worked part-time as a driver for Briton's (Bill's) Florist. Jack was a basketball official for 25 years and an avid golfer, playing at many local courses. He was a long-time parishioner at St. Elizabeth Church.
Jack will be dearly missed by his wife of 53 years, Christine (Costos) Fiorelli; his son, John T. Fiorelli, Jr. and his wife, Marie; his daughter, Deede Lougheed and her husband, Bob and their children, Bob and his wife, Nicole and their son, Brady, Benjamin and Matthew Lougheed; his daughter, Karen Diana and her husband, Jim and their children, Jimmy, Jake and Luke Diana all of Wilmington. Also surviving are Jack's brothers Joseph of Florida and Francis and his wife, Emma Jane of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fiorelli's family would like to deeply thank the wonderful staff and nurses at the Hillside Center and Dr. Donald Riesenberg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning April 1, 2009 at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Church, Clayton and Cedar Streets. Friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. There will be no morning calling hours. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
