Joseph Maddams Obituary
AGE: 33 • WIlmington, DE
Joseph M. Maddams, Jr., age 33, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 due to injuries sustained in an accident.
Joe enjoyed life especially spending time with the love of his life; his son, Shane. He was a graduate of Del Castle High School, a member of the Stapler A. A. and Defiance Club. He was employed at Austin & Pruitt Fire Protection Equipment Supplier.
He is survived by his son, Shane Maddams; his parents, Deborah and Joseph Maddams, Sr., his brother, Eric and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and Shane's mother, Dominique Blakey.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Catherine (Cass) (Graney) and Walter Maddams and David and Mary Cunningham, his uncle, Danny Cunningham and his cousin, Kimberly Clark.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 25 from 4-7 pm in St. Elizabeth's Church, Cedar and S. Clayton Sts., Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 26 at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations for Joe's son, Shane to WSFS, 3908 Kennett Pike, Greenville, DE 19807. Make checks payable to Shane R. Maddams (UTMA).

I have so many memories growing up around canby park with Joe, he was always a good person & it hurts deeply to know he was taken so early. You will be missed by so many of us Joe. My heart goes out to his family & friends.

Thinking of you always but especially as Christmas draws near. It won't be the same without you here with us. Your face was one of the first we saw every Christmas morning and your big infectious smile in the annual cousin photo was one of the best parts of the traditional Christmas breakfast.
I am sad that my kids will not have your physical presence in their lives any longer, but your spiritual presence will always be with them- the example you set as a big cousin to them, friend to all, father to Shane...that will stick with them and inspire them as they grow up. For that we will always be thankful.
Uncle Tom and I miss you tremendously, and will forever love you.

My heart hurts today to hear that we lost a great person to this world. Joe was an amazing man!! I had the pleasure to go to school with him and though our memories in high school wasn't many, it wasn't until after we graduated that I grown to respect Joe. And that was because I viewed him as the greatest dad in the world. My condolence to the family. Joe will truly be missed. Earth lost a great person but our Heavens gained a great Angel to watch over us!! RIP Joe

Rip Joey, you were a very nice kid all around, very respectful and a good team player and a very gifted athlete and baseball player and I remember drafting you when you were 13 years old for the ECAA in Elsmere babe Ruth league. and played with my son for three years and two all star tournaments.
