Szymanski
Joseph Martin Szymanski, age 40 of Elkton, MD, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2005.
Joseph was a carpenter in the Wilmington area. He was a graduate of Howard High School, Class of '82. He enjoyed all types of sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles, and was a wrestler in grade school and high school. He enjoyed fishing and loved animals, bringing home many strays over the years. He was well-liked, easygoing and free spirited, and will be deeply missed by his family.
He is survived by his mother, Mary M. Szymanski of Elkton, MD; his father, Edward P. Szymanski of Wilmington, DE; his brothers, James and his wife, Gael, John and his wife, Christine, Kevin and his companion, Mary, Timothy and his wife, Marci, Christopher and his wife, Magda, Matthew and his wife, Tina; his sisters, Annmarie Heisler and her husband, Skip, and Karen Munden-Szymanski; his uncle, Rev. John J. Kavanaugh; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Karla, Clinton, Cameron, Celina, Amy, Bridget, Mischa, Gabrielle, Nikolai and Liam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., on Monday morning, October 24, at 11 am. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, on Sunday evening, October 23, from 6-8 pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Union Hospital Foundation, 106 Bow St., Elkton, MD 21921 Attn: ICU Unit.

Thanks Kathy, I miss him too. I have learned so much over the last five years on traumatic brain injury and trauma in general. With his history, I can't imagine his pain, challenges and struggle on a daily basis. We were close brothers because we were close together in the birth order and in school at the same time in many of the same activities. He had a heart and loving demeanor for everyone and every creature but was ready to fight for what he believed and those he loved before the dime even dropped. I still miss him today.
