Kevin Coates Obituary
Kevin Philip Coates, age 42 of Newark, DE., passed away suddenly in his home on the morning of June 14, 2012.
Kevin was employed as a supervisor at Prince Telecom, and Just Fish, as a part-time sales technician. When he wasn't working he was tending to his koi ponds and saltwater fish tanks, raising his frogs, fishing whenever he could, and rooting for the Flyers.
Kevin was an extremely talented musician, having played the drums for 33 years. He played in several Death Metal Bands, including Corpus Rottus and Face of Pain. His latest musical accomplishment was learning the banjo and picking Bluegrass with his friends.
Kevin is the beloved son of Kathleen Coates and the late Albert Coates. He leaves behind five siblings: Mary Farr, Anne Coates, Albert Coates Jr., Katie Coates and Courtney Scherer. Kevin also leaves behind Kathy Maguire, his girlfriend of twenty seven years.
Kevin was hardworking and wonderful and should be remembered as the kindhearted, fun loving, respectful, witty man that he was. He will be sadly missed by his girlfriend Kathy, his family and his many friends. He will forever be in our hearts.
Please help us celebrate his life at Beeson Funeral Home on Monday, June 18 from 6-8 pm. Burial will be private.

R.I.P. Kevin! One of the greatest Death Metal drummers that I've had the privilege to jam with (even though nothing really became of it!) You're legacy lives on in the music you created. My condolences to family and friends.

Kathy, I can't even begin to express how deeply sorry we are for you losing Kevin..This is such a shock... Kevin was a such a great man and a very talented musician..Everyone always knew since we were young, that he was the love of your life, your best friend and your sole mate.. no matter how much he drove you crazy sometimes.. there was never Kathy without Kevin.. my heart is breaking for you..

Kathy, I was shocked when I seen Boc's face book! Kevin will be missed by a lot of people. I believe what Boc said to me is true, Ollie met Kevin with the big grin and a hug and then they got to jammin'. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest condolences to the family. I knew Kevin many years ago, he was always such a nice and honest guy.
I just lost my brother (42 yrs old) two weeks ago. Very shocking since it was sudden and a tragic accident. This is not easy - especially with the planning of the funeral and all the emotions; very draining. But, as each day goes on, it will get a little easier. We have to be strong for the one's who are left behind as well as keep the memory alive of our deceased loved one.
I hope the family finds peace during this difficult time.
