Leo Loder

AGE: 78 • Newark

Passed away peacefully on June 1, 2016.

Leo was a 1955 graduate of Salesianum High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Turkey.

After completing his service in the Army, Leo returned home and became an insurance agent. He was the president of Sutton-Loder Insurance for 43 years until his retirement in 2013.

He was a member of VFW Post 475. Leo was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed attending the University of Delaware football games.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Thompson of Newark, DE, her husband, Daniel and his granddaughter, Danielle Thompson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Leo on Wed Jun 8 at 12:00 pm at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 11:00am - 12:00pm. Interment will take place at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

I have known Leo for 50 years. He was friends with my parents, Joe and Pinky. And I remember their DE football days. I am so sorry to hear of Leo's passing. He was a kind and wonderful man! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am a parishioner of St John's on Main Street. He was devoted at the church. He was an usher at church. I always sat in front of him. He was such a nice person and I miss my church usher.
