Lisa Buchanan Obituary
Age 43, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2012 after a battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Lisa was known for her many endearing qualities, including her gorgeous blue eyes, her sense of humor, and being a loving selfless person. She was a very generous friend who treated everyone as her family.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Michael B. Buchanan, her daughter Rachel Buchanan and her fiancé Chris Chance and her beloved granddaughter, Destiny Chance: her mother, Sandy Ghione: her mother and father-in-law, Carol and David Buchanan; her sister Linda Frey and her husband Doug; her brother Frank and his wife Katie Ghione and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her father, Louis Ghione, her grandparents; and brother-in-law Al Padilla.
The family would like thank Pam Aspril and her family for opening their home and hearts to Lisa, her family and friends during her last days. The family also thanks Season's Hospice, Christiana Hospital and Father William Hazzard. Finally they thank Carol and David Buchanan for helping aid her recover after a brain aneurysm in 2012.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's R.C. Church, 807 Maryland Ave., Wilmington, DE 19804 where friends may call from 9:30-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Parish or St. Jude's Children's Hospital

Today was it mom. Today we allowed all your friends and family say "see ya later" because... Well, there are no goodbyes. Gods garden isnt beautiful now that your with him.. Its beyond that. Even though i was with you everyday till u went home to the lord it just dosent seem real. I look on my caller ID everday thinking im gona see your number but i know im not. Words truley cannot even begin to describe how much i miss you. And it kills me to know that you left a beautiful granddaughter behind and all i wanted was for you to watch her grow up but then i realize again you will be watching over her very closey. I still just cant believe your gone. But the one thing that comforts me is i know all i have to do is look in the mirror and ill find you i may not of gotten them gorgeous blue eyes but i got everything else :) I love you.. Destiny loves you... Daddy loves you... We all love you and miss you like crazy.

Lisa was a beautiful person and her smile could light up the room:) she had an awsome sense of humor.. She was a great friend, I have allot of happy memories with her and Rachel... She was always a great girl and was so close to her mom... My deepest sympathy to Rachel and Mike... I'm so sorry we lost touch when I moved away...

I am trying to find the right words, but nothing I can say is remotely close to good enough to speak of such a wonderful friend. She was always there for me when I needed it and was more than my friend, she was my family. I am truly honored to have had her in my life! My only wish is that she will watch over her family and keep them safe. God definately got blessed when he chose her to be an angel! Now she rests in paradise with her dad and can be at peace. I offer my sincere sympathies to Mike, Rachel, Sandy, Linda, Frank and Little Destiny (her little princess)...

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family ! My heart hurts for them ! Lisa was a strong woman and went through alot and fought till the end ! She raised a beautiful daughter Rachel who I've had the pleasure of being friends with ! I remember in high school Rachel always talked about her "mommy" they were truly best friends and had a relationship I looked up to!! I wish the best for the family and always think of good memories and her laugh and smile and fun/funny times !
