Age 73 of Newark, DE passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday November 17, 2005.
Bob was born in TN and came to this area as a child. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for Richards Dairy before starting his family owned business in 1956. He owned and operated Robert Tolliver Inc., a local sanitation company. Bob took great pride in providing excellent service to his customers. Even after he retired, he remained interested in the Delaware Solid Waste Authority. He was a longtime member of the Red Clay Kiwanis Club and he especially enjoyed working at the Delaware State Fair raising money for High School Key Clubs. Bob was noted for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Gregg Tolliver; his sons, Steven and his wife, Karin, Alan and his wife, Mary Jo and Michael and his wife, Kimberley; his daughter, Susan Lewkowitz and her husband, David; and his 6 grandchildren, Rachael and Zachary Tolliver, Mark and Erica Bydlon and Abigail and Michael Tolliver, Jr.
The Tolliver family wishes to thank Delaware Hospice and the Helen Graham Cancer Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road Pike Creek, on Monday, November 21, 2005, at 12 noon, where friends may visit after 10:30 am. Burial will be in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Tolliver may be sent to Delaware Hospice Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
