Scott Abrams Obituary

Scott Abrams

Age 56, passed away after courageously battling several illnesses for years. He chose to stop dialysis and passed comfortably with his family.

Scott was born in Wilmington, DE on September 7, 1959. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1978 and Widener University where he majored in food management - it was Scott's love of cooking that lead him there. Scott was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan. When healthy, he very much enjoyed and was successful at being a power weight-lifter. He was known for his great laugh, generosity to family and friends and devotion to Judaism.

Scott was predeceased by his mother, Lillian and brothers, Henny and Ricky. He is survived by his brothers, Bryan and Ronny (Diane); and his nieces he loved dearly, Ashley and Brooke.

The family would like to thank the people of Riverview Dialysis, Delaware Hospice and Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis for their care.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Schoenberg Memorial Chapel, 519 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Scott's memory to a charity of your choice.

Carlos Rodriguez & I still reminisce about the good times we shared with Scott so many years ago. We both loved & continue to miss Scott dearly. I miss going with Scott to New Directions where we met in 1995. I miss going to the sixers games several times per year, every season with Scott for many years & meeting Bryan at the games with those awesome court side seats! Most of all I miss Scott one of my dearest friends. I wish I'd had Scott's telephone number once he moved to Jeffrey Williams in Newark Delaware, but I only saw him once after he moved out there and then lost contact with Scott for 2 years until I learned of his passing. I regret not knowing how sick Scott had become and only finding out after he had already passed. I only wish I would have called Bryan to find out where Scott was living in those last 2 years so I could have said goodbye to my dear friend. I will love and miss you forever Scott Abrams.

Scott, you are in my prayers as you look upon your family and friends from heaven. We first met in 1995 and spent several years together and eventually lost touch. I remember us going to the 76ers basketball games with your brother Brian and seeing Gloria Estefan in Philadelphia. May your family find peace at this difficult time. We will always remember your laughter and jokes. Love you, Stacy.

Bryan and Ronnie,
So sorry to read about Scott. The last time I saw you Bryan, you said he wasn't doing well. It seems he has found peace and in a better place. I know it's hard to think this way.
My heart and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
Take care of one another, and endure.
My Deepest Sympathy,
Peggy Venable Dillon

Scott was a wonderful neighbor and always had a smile for us even when he was going through difficult times. May his memory be for a blessing, and may the family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Dear family and friends of Scott: I am so sorry to hear of Scott's passing away! Although it has been years since I've seen him I have many childhood memories of Scott and I playing in the back yard as small children and chatting on my front step as we turned into teens. We always had a connection growing up. Scott was a very passionate person and really expressed his feelings. when I still livedln green acres, he would always pop in and see me. I have thought of him often over the years.I know you will miss him dearly. He is sleeping now but it is not permanent. Scott will rise again to life without pain and suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with all his loved ones.
